A Titanic souvenir pincushion, one of the 200 items auctioned in a unique memorabilia sale from the doomed liner at auctioneers Henry Aldridge and Son in Devizes Wiltshire .The pincushion was bought on board the Titanic by Father Francis Browne, a Jesuit priest. * Fr Browne disembarked from the ship at Queenstown, Ireland, before it sailed on to disaster. A letter he wrote to his niece while on board, on Titanic stationery, sold for 17,000, the same price as the pincushion .
yeah and I also remember another auction at Devizes in November 2010 with not just the menus being sold but the missing key to the binocular cupboard which got lost but then turned up unexpectedly through the generations. that was for £76.000 pounds by an American private collector.
