ming the may difficulties which we were to encounter.     The school year 1978/79 was an important one, Kieran Lyons left to become Chief Executive Officer of the City of Waterford V.E.C., and the present principal, Tony Russell, was appointed. In May 1979 we moved into our new building.     In the years following our numbers increased dramatically and on 22nd January, 1981 the school was officially opened by the then Minister of Education John Wilson, T.D. In June our first 6th Year Class sat for the Leaving Certificate Examination.     The final stage of our development was completed when the Sports Hall was opened. This most important facility was to be the venue for many memorable symphony concerts until the College Hall at Waterford Institute of Technology was completed.
