Pembroke Dock, the Car Ferry to Neyland 1960

Brunel used Neyland as a terminus to connect to Ireland and the Atlantic, and his imprint remains everywhere, such as the name Brunel Avenue. He constructed a railway yard on a platform of floating pontoons. Neyland remained a railway terminus until 1955. A busy car ferry, the 'Cleddau Queen' seen here operated to Hobbs Point until the Cleddau bridge opened.

Used to use this ferry to go to see my aunty Enid in Johnson....saved going round the Road way!
She was the landlady with my Uncle Tony who ran the Railway Inn at Johnston, near Haverfordwest
