Mold High School is (probably) the result of the merger of several schools - one of which was Mold Central School which was at the Nerquis end of Wrexham Road, Mold. I believe that other schools in the amalgamtion were Mold Alun Grammar School and a Welsh school which was built in the Bryn Coch area of Mold. Mold Central was opened in or about 1938 with the first headmaster being Mr. Shaw. Mr. Shaw died in about 1939/40 and Mr. Garston was temporary head until Thomas Ceiriog Williams was appointed in 1940 or 1941. At one time the school was called Mold Modern Secondary and was subsequently renamed "Ysgol Daniel Owen". (written by Gerald Rowlands.)
