I think Veronica Mead is my sister, who migrated to NZ with her mother, leaving her father in England. I would love to make contact with her. How do I go about it?

I remember a brave boy going to a farm in Canada to a childless couple he was told. At about 13 0r 14 he thought it was his big chance in the world and I was worried for him. Still wonder how he fared. He was in the Bolton Ramblers club briefly around 1945.
Curly auburn hair he had and I think his name was John McDonald. His uncle was a Mr Gallagher who kept the Black Dog Pub at the corner of Prospect St and Halliwell rd.Bolton He had a son also called John
