i used to live in the flats seen in far right ,herbert house. the lane was like this every sunday until the 70s where it's popularity waned. what a lovely photo. many thanks for sharing it.

Many good memories going to the market on a sunday morning with my dad!

I lived in the East End of London and went to the market almost every Sunday. This photo brings back many happy memories. My then boyfiend and I bought our first item for our
bottom drawer in Petticoat Lane Market, in 1954. This was a white china tea set with a gold rim, which I still have. We married in 1956. My husband has since passed away and I now live in The Netherlands. This really is a very special photo for me. Thank you.
