Ah, That van! Took a few people to a few places. Pictured - the Northfields Band "in Transit"! - this time at Stowmarket, Ipswich, shown before Pete Cadigan wore down the remaining rubber on the rear tyres during the Jersey mountain rally! I believe that, seated on the bonnet, is that most distinguished of trombone players, Chief Inspector Dave Pellatt. This is also the van that John Gordon was reputed to have taken the wrong way down a French dual carriageway!!

John Gordon - What a lovely chap, as a teacher I learned a lot from him, but sadly none of it in French. His passion for rugby and camping rubbed off on me and I still reflect on those good times, at Luton RFC and in Edale, getting exposure on Mam Tor. I don't think I would change a thing (though if you'd asked me at the time I would probably have changed everything!)
